FAQs
Q: Which house is for what? Where is everything?
A: There are three main places we'll be holding festivities:
1. The Dumont house - Jamie's parents home, where the wedding ceremony will take place outdoors. It's about 40 minutes west of Denver.
2. Coors Field - in Denver, where we'll watch the Colorado Rockies play the Milwaukee Brewers after the ceremony.
3. Georgetown house - the house where we'll be having dinner and partying after the baseball game. It's about an hour west of downtown Denver (and about 10 minutes west of the Dumont house).
Here are some directions.
Q: Is your ceremony inside or outside?
A: Outside in a grassy meadow, barring nasty weather.
Q: Why are you taking us to a baseball game on your wedding day?
A: Before we found each other, we both found love in baseball. The very first time we met, Lisa asked the bartender (it was a work-related happy hour) to put on Game 7 of the World Series. This opened the door for Jamie to finally talk to Lisa, who was ignoring him until then. We rooted against the St. Louis Cardinals together (RIP Stan the Man), and the rest is history. Baseball holds a special place in our hearts. You hold a special place in our hearts. We want to bring those worlds together.
Q: Is the game free for me?
A: If you got an invite and RSVP'd in time, then yes. We have a limited number of tickets so please make sure you RSVP ASAP.
Q: Where are the seats?
A: We have amazing seats in section 118 at Coors Field! Not only are they handicap accessible and on the third baseline, they come with a $10 voucher for food/drink.
Q: How do I get my tickets?
A: You'll be getting them at the morning ceremony. If you aren't able to make that, we will leave them at Will Call for you.
Q: Do I have to dress up for the game?
A: Not if you don't want to. If you have to choose between fancy or comfortable, choose comfort. With time constraints, we recommend wearing something that is suitable for the outdoor ceremony and the game.
Q: Will there be dancing?
A: After the baseball game, we'll be heading back into the mountains for drinks and merriment, which can include dancing if you feel the urge to boogie. BUT, there is absolutely NO starting The Wave, no exceptions.
Q: Will there be food?
A: With your game ticket, you'll get a $10 voucher to spend however you like. After the game, we'll have a delicious taco/burrito bar set up at the house in Georgetown.
Q: Who's in the wedding party?
A: There is no wedding party, but our closest friends and family will be staying at the Georgetown house with us. (If you are a member of this group, you already know it).
Q: What about altitude sickness?
A: Altitude sickness - also known as acute mountain sickness (AMS), altitude illness, hypobaropathy, or "You're not from 'round these parts, is ya?" disease - is very real. Here is a helpful page with information and prevention ideas. Drink lots of water and plan your visit knowing that it may take a day or two to get used to the altitude.
Q: I'm from out of town, how do I get around?
A: We trust you to figure out your own logistics around transportation and lodging. Since there is a lot of travelling involved on the actually wedding day, here is more information on the transportation for the wedding events.
Q: Where are you registered?
A: We understand that for many of our loved ones, just making the trip is costly enough. Any gifts you'd like to give will be loved and appreciated, but are not necessary or expected.
If you do decide to gift us with something other than your presence, we have registered for a few homey things at Bed Bath & Beyond, and we're also registered for pieces of our ideal honeymoon at Honeyfund.com.
Q: When do I have to RSVP by?
A: As soon as possible. But by May 15 at the latest- that way we can get a full refund on any unused game tickets. You can also let us know if you plan on making it to the Georgetown house after the game here.
Q: I have a question that's not on this page.
A: Email us at rjglucas @ gmail.com or lmbahr @ gmail.com. We'll try to update this page with the questions that we didn't think of the first time, but you smart people did. We're so lucky to know you!
